Hi, I’m Riku, an editor and Japanese adult site reviewer at Japan Uncut. I specialize in testing Japanese premium membership sites, keeping our existing reviews current, and following new developments within the Japanese adult industry.
Japan Uncut is part of the same independent review team behind Dark Angel Reviews, where our team has been reviewing premium adult membership sites since 2012.
The overall editorial team is led by Daniel, Chief Editor, who has worked with adult membership site reviews since 2012. My role is more specialized: I focus on the Japanese sites, studios, and services covered here on Japan Uncut.
My Role at Japan Uncut
I spend much of my time finding Japanese adult sites worth reviewing and revisiting memberships we’ve already covered to see what’s changed.
When I review a premium Japanese site, I want to understand what someone actually receives after paying for access rather than simply repeating information from the site’s sales page.
Depending on the membership and the features available, my work can include:
- Accessing and browsing the members area
- Checking the size and variety of the video library
- Streaming videos and checking playback quality
- Testing downloads when they are available
- Comparing available video resolutions and formats
- Checking categories, search tools, filters, and performer pages
- Looking at how frequently new videos are published
- Checking membership prices and billing options
- Evaluating mobile and desktop usability
- Comparing the membership with competing Japanese sites we’ve reviewed
This hands-on approach gives us a much better understanding of a membership than we could get from its public promotional pages alone.
Why I Specialize in Japanese Adult Sites
Japan Uncut originally launched in 2012 with coverage that included Asian live cam sites such as Sakura Live. However, we quickly saw strong reader interest in Japanese adult content and began expanding our coverage of premium JAV membership sites.
Over time, Japanese premium sites became the main focus of Japan Uncut.
That specialization is useful because Japanese adult memberships can be quite different from mainstream Western adult sites. Pricing structures, censorship, download systems, video formats, English-language navigation, international payment options, and the way content libraries are organized can all vary considerably between platforms.
Having reviewed and compared sites within the niche over many years gives me a much better reference point for judging whether a Japanese membership genuinely offers good value.
What I Look for in a Japanese Porn Membership
I don’t believe that one headline number can tell you whether a membership is worth joining.
A site can advertise an enormous library, for example, but I still want to know how useful that library actually is. Is the content current? How often is it updated? Is navigation available in English? Can international customers join easily? Are downloads included? What video quality is available? And how does the price compare with competing Japanese memberships?
Some of the main areas I consider include:
- Content quality: Overall production and video quality across the library.
- Library size: How much useful content members actually receive.
- Updates: How frequently new content is added.
- Video quality: Available resolutions, streaming quality, and download formats.
- Usability: How easy the members area is to navigate and search.
- International accessibility: English-language support, payment options, and ease of use outside Japan.
- Pricing: Membership costs and what is included for the price.
- Overall value: How the complete membership compares with competing Japanese sites.
We use an established scoring framework to make comparisons between memberships more consistent. You can read more about it on our Rating Criteria page.
Comparing Sites We’ve Actually Used
One of the biggest advantages of operating Japan Uncut for many years is the number of Japanese membership sites we’ve been able to examine and compare.
When I describe a membership as having particularly good video quality, a large library, strong updates, poor navigation, or good value, I’m not judging it in isolation. I can compare the experience with other Japanese memberships we’ve covered.
This is especially important because two Japanese sites can look quite similar from their public pages while offering very different experiences once you enter the members area.
Keeping Japan Uncut Reviews Current
Publishing a review isn’t the end of our work.
Japanese adult sites change over time. Prices can increase, libraries grow, video quality improves, payment options change, and sites can redesign their members areas or introduce new features.
We therefore revisit existing reviews and update important information when we identify significant changes.
When reviewing an older listing, I may recheck:
- Current membership prices
- Library size
- Available video quality
- Streaming and download options
- Update frequency
- Navigation and usability
- Payment options
- Major changes to the membership
If a site improves significantly, our review and rating can improve. If a membership declines in quality, stops updating, becomes poor value, or develops significant problems, we can lower its rating or stop recommending it.
Daniel – Chief Editor
Daniel is the Chief Editor overseeing Japan Uncut and our wider adult review publishing projects.
Daniel has worked with premium adult membership site reviews since 2012 through Dark Angel Reviews and our related specialist review sites.
His role includes overseeing editorial standards, review methodology, rating consistency, major content updates, and the overall quality of our reviews and recommendations.
This structure allows Japan Uncut to combine Daniel’s broader experience comparing adult memberships across the industry with my specialist focus on Japanese sites and services.
Editorial Independence
Japan Uncut is independently operated and is supported in part through affiliate commissions. Some links on the site are affiliate links, which means we may receive a commission if a reader follows a link and purchases a membership.
Affiliate commissions do not determine our review scores, rankings, or recommendations.
A larger commission doesn’t result in a higher rating, and an affiliate relationship doesn’t guarantee that a site will receive a positive review.
Our goal is to evaluate the membership itself and consider its content, quality, updates, usability, pricing, and overall value compared with the other Japanese sites we’ve reviewed.
Reader Feedback
My experience with a membership is one perspective, and individual users can have different preferences and experiences.
If you’ve used one of the Japanese sites we’ve reviewed and notice that something has changed, or you think there’s another Japanese membership we should test, we’d like to hear from you.
